Implementing Behavioral Science Training in Family Medicine.
Tapp, Jack T.
A review of the problems encountered in an attempt to implement behavior science training in two programs in family medicine is presented. An outline of an intervention model that focuses on strategies, activities, and implementation problems in training the behavioral sciences for family practice residents is provided, including discussions on assessing training needs, developing training methods, making training tasks relevant to the work of the residents, and designing evaluation procedures to assess the impact of training.
