Scherner, Sharon; And Others
The annotated bibliography lists approximately 180 energy and conservation education resources. The bibliography is intended to aid K-12 classroom teachers and curriculum developers identify key resources as they develop and implement energy education programs. Sample topics in the works listed deal with the story of natural gas, living with energy, hints for conserving energy in household heating, tips to protect the environment, principles of wind-powered systems, global food problems, solar energy, energy futures, and the history of coal usage. References include story books, teaching guides, energy education units, multimedia kits, catalogs, notebooks of classroom activities, bibliographies, posters, and photograph collections. Entries are arranged alphabetically by name of agency from which the material is available. Eighty-six agencies are listed, including universities, state departments of education, government agencies, private companies, educational agencies, information clearinghouses, publishers, and boards of education. For each entry, information is presented on name and mailing address of agency from which material is available, author, title, annotation, grade level, number of pages, and price. An index lists individual materials alphabetically by title and suggests the grade level or levels for which the material is appropriate. (DB)
