The main body of the work contains a summary of spending for social research and development for each department of the federal government and the independent agencies. Agencies included are: Department of Agriculture; Department of Commerce; Department of Defense; Department of Energy; Department of Health, Education and Welfare; Department of Housing and Urban Development; Department of the Interior; Department of Justice; Department of Labor; Department of State; Department of Transportation; and Department of the Treasury.
