Arizona Community Colleges: Annual Report to the Governor, Fiscal 1977-78.
Arizona State Board of Directors for Junior Colleges, Phoenix.
Data on the community college system in Arizona are provided in five sections. The first section lists the State Board members, outlines Board and Central Staff expenditures, and provides the philosophy of the community colleges. The second section locates the nine college districts, the 14 colleges, ten skill centers, and 22 campuses. The third segment presents financial data, revealing that 44% of the total community college revenues of $109,874,947 came from district tax levy and that another 33% came from state aid. Total expenditures for 1977-78 were $92,465,082; 88% of these were in the operations category, 8% for capital outlay, and 4% for debt service. This section also provides source and distribution of funds for each district and campus; summarizes bonded indebtedness and plant investments, and current operating expenditures; and analyzes state aid income and its history. The fourth part of the report, containing enrollment data, analyzes full-time student equivalent and headcount growth patterns for each district and for the vocational programs; considers residency and ethnic status and age for students in each county; presents information on certificated and non-certificated personnel; and reviews enrollments by program. The fifth section deals with career development in the community colleges and presents a curricula matrix for the colleges. (AYC)
