Bibliographies from the Center for Multicultural Awareness: An Annotated Bibliography of Children's Folklore from Five U.S. Minority Cultures and A Preliminary Bibliography on Primary Prevention of Drug Abuse for Minority Groups.
Development Associates, Inc., Arlington, VA.
Five minority cultures in the United States (Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Mexican American, Native American, and Puerto Rican) have been targeted for special Federal drug abuse prevention programs and resources served by the Center for Multicultural Awareness. The folktales listed in the first bibliography represent a cross-section of the best of the recorded retellings of traditional folk stories, myths, and legends from each of these five cultures. Most of the books on the list are beautifully illustrated. Also included in this annotated listing are bibliographies of folktales from the different cultures and the names and addresses of distributors if they are not the publisher. The second bibliography is an alphabetical listing of 69 documents related to the primary prevention of drug abuse for minority groups. (Author/JD)
