The Colorado Caravan Workshop Manual.
Cobin, Martin; And Others
The second of four related manuals describing the goals and methods of an established developmental theatre project at the University of Colorado, this manual presents a hierarchical framework and practical guidelines for conducting drama workshops for elementary students, secondary students, and adults. It describes four types of workshops--content centered, theatre centered, custom designed, and developmental--and discusses value systems and teaching techniques that have been tested in previous workshops. Specific workshop lesson plans are outlined on the topics of trust, sensitivity, sensory awareness, imagination, expressiveness, creativity, movement, and self-confidence. Each lesson plan offers objectives, techniques, evaluation procedures, and follow-up activities. The manual concludes with a discussion of norms for evaluating the effectiveness of the workshop. A beginning bibliography, six pages of teacher notes, and a teacher evaluation sheet are appended. (MAI)
