ESEA Title IV. Special Education Television Reading Program. Final Evaluation Report.
Walder, Leopold O.; And Others
The problems in implementing and evaluating a television project for teaching reading in thirteen District of Columbia schools are described, and the opinion is offered that the project was successful in producing a rapid improvement in the students' interest in improving their reading ability. Participants were 300 students in grades four through seven and in grade ten who were reading two or more years below grade level. The project was in operation for periods varying from two to four months because of delays in the delivery of essential equipment. A list of data summary tables and attitude questionnaires are appended. Raw data and summary tables are available from the evaluators. (Author/CTM)
