Dignity. Booklet No. 5.
George Washington Univ., Washignton, DC. Regional Rehabilitation Research Inst. on Attitudinal, Legal and Leisure Barriers.
The last of a series of booklets on attitudinal barriers examines attitudes toward people with mental retardation. Five myths (including that mentally retarded people have abnormally strong sex drives which they can't control) are discussed, and five scenes portraying negative attitudes are presented. Seven suggested actions when meeting a person with mental retardation are provided along with general advocacy considerations. (CL)
