The report summarizes major program accomplishments of the Northwest Area Learning Resource Center (NALRC) in providing media, materials, and educational technology support services to handicapped children and their teachers in its 10 states and territories. Program development accomplishments in Area One included assisting states in local and state materials-center stimulation or development; providing technical assistance to state education agencies in state planning of intrastate materials service; providing state and local education agencies with consultation on educational technology of specific education materials usage; developing capacity for conducting or participating in media and materials conferences and workshops; devising and executing plans for dissemination of child-use instructional materials-related information; providing human resources for reinforcing state staff in media, materials, and technology services development; and acting as the interface between local materials needs and the resources for meeting such needs. Helping Area Three trainers to identify media, materials, and educational technology training needs is also discussed, along with serving as an intermediary between Area Four states and the national information system. State-by-state summaries of NALRC accomplishments are also provided. (DLS)
