Presented is a model for the development of school policies and rules for identifying and reporting child abuse. The document provides a model statement of rules and includes information regarding who must report, under what circumstances must a report be made, how a report is made, penalty, inservice, social service contacts, publication of rules, liaison, and support services. Appendix A contains the Iowa State Department of Social Services guidelines for reporting child abuse. Appendix B is a copy of the Suspected Child Abuse Reporting Form. (BD)
