This publication presents the report of Jeddah II Conference of the Program for Environmental Studies, Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) hosted by King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah in January 1976. The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) initiated the conference to study the issues of scientific research on, and monitoring, the environment of the Red Sea Basin and the Gulf of Aden. Several international and national organizations such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) supported the conference. This report presents: (1) list of delegates; (2) reports and working papers; (3) conference procedures; (4) work of the conference; (5) plan for 1976 and 1977; and (6) resolution documents of the conference. The work of the conference includes: (1) the regional scientific program; (2) program for pollution research and monitoring; (3) training and education; (4) organizational subjects; and (5) draft convention on the protection of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden environment.
