A summary and analysis of data are presented regarding the tendency of Maryland high school seniors to attend institutions of higher education in other states. Out-of-state attendance is addressed from three perspectives. First, a summary is given, on a county-by-county basis, of the percentages of college-bound high school seniors who intend to enroll out-of-state. Second, a summary is provided, by county, of the states in which seniors intended to enroll in higher education. Third, an analysis is presented of the tendency of students of different academic achievement levels to attend school out-of-state. The data used for this report is from a follow-up study of the Maryland High School Class of 1974 conducted by the Maryland State Department of Education. (Author/LBH)
