In 1965 a parliamentary commission began a review of the whole system of competency and university admission in Sweden in order to simplify it and bring it into line with other education reforms. The research projects undertaken as a basis for making reform recommendations were published in 1970, and the findings are briefly reviewed here. The studies cover both research in other countries and Swedish research on predictors of success: tests and grades. (MSE)
