A discussion of sexual harassment on college and university campuses addresses a number of questions and issues: myths of sexual harassment; what is sexual harassment, how widespread is it, and why are women reluctant to talk about it?; sexual harassment and the law; is harassment a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (for employees) or of Title IX (for students)?; can an employer ignore complaints of harassment?; can damages be awarded to persons successfully claiming harassment?; Title IX and grievance procedures; and implications for institutions. A list of institutions that have worked on the issue and a bibliography are included. (MSE)
