The collective bargaining agreement between Hofstra University and the Hofstra chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is presented. Items covered in the agreement include: recognition of the AAUP; academic planning; appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure; working conditions; fringe benefits; compensation; reduction of faculty as a consequence of curricular curtailment or financial exigency; no strike, work stoppage or lockout; and grievance and arbitration procedures. Also covered are: released time; non-discrimination; personnel files; composition and responsibilities of an Affirmative Action Committee and of a University Special Action Commission; selection, evaluation and removal of departmental chairpersons; and adjunct faculty and special faculty status. The responsibilities of New College faculty, workloads of physical education faculty, library faculty, and speech clinicians, and a time schedule are appended. (SPG)
