City Univ. of New York, NY. City Coll. Workshop Center for Open Education.
This publication provides a periodic report on the changes begun in the New York City public schools under the direction of the City College Advisory Service to Open Corridors. The Open Corridor concept involves a cluster of classrooms around a single corridor which is used as an activity center. Children from the various classrooms may go to the corridor for specialized activities, or they may move from their own classroom to one of the others on the corridor. This issue is one of a series on the first 10 years of continuous Open Corridor work. Included are excerpts from a series of Experienced (Open Corridor) Teachers' Meetings and an article describing the first Open Corridor. (Author/DOW)
