Black Students' Concerns in a Black College.
Chandra, Kananur V.
This research study investigated the personal hopes and aspirations, personal worries and fears of black students in a predominantly black college in the South. It also determined their attitudes toward the social problems of their respective backgrounds. A sample of 220 students from a student population of 2000 answered a questionnaire consisting of precoded questions about problems in the United States, social life, national concerns, and international relationships. Students were also interviewed individually. Open ended questions were asked to obtain qualitative information about the students. Results are presented in discussion and table form. A copy of the questionnaire and description of the coding system and sample population are also included. (Author/MC)
