The purpose of this publication is to give an overview of some specific schemes that have been used successfully by teachers throughout New York State to strengthen mathematics skills. The various components of this publication offer ideas that have been successful with primary, intermediate, and secondary students. Ideas included: (1) how to make use of manipulative materials, algorithms, games, relevant applications, diagnosis, and visual sequence; and (2) structural approach suggestions. (MN)
