Trends in Environmental Education.
United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, Paris (France).
In October of 1975, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in cooperation with Unesco, conducted an international workshop on environmental education in Belgrade. The papers presented at the workshop were later revised according to the workshop recommendations. These 14 revised papers are organized into four parts: (1) concepts, goals, methodologies and materials; (2) formal environmental education; (3) informal environmental education; and (4) policies for environmental education. In revising their papers, the authors reviewed and analyzed materials which espoused educational objectives agreed upon at the Belgrade Conference such as Awareness, Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, Evaluation Ability, and Participation. These papers provide documentation of the workshop, a baseline for assessing trends in environmental education, and information for the establishment of environmental education programes. (MR)
