The Environmental Impact of Electrical Generation: Nuclear vs. Conventional.
McDermott, John J., Ed.
This minicourse, partially supported by the Division of Nuclear Education and Training of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, is an effort to describe the benefit-to-risk ratio of various methods of generating electrical power. It attempts to present an unbiased, straightforward, and objective view of the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear generation of electricity. Through reading and other activities, the student considers the generation of electrical energy, nuclear reactors, biological effects, waste products, plant sites, environmental impact, and costs.
