The composition and activities of the Committee On Physics In Two Year Colleges in its first year of operation are discussed. The role of this committee as one of the working groups of the American Association of Physics Teachers is explored, both with respect to its responsibilities to the two year college teaching profession and to the general physics community. Projects presently underway, as well as future plans, are discussed. Projects include modular approaches to science education and the computer as an educational facility.
