The papers given at the May 17-19 forum on Management of Information Analysis Centers held at the National Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, Md. are presented in four sessions separated by topic. Besides the welcoming remarks and the keynote address session 1 contains three general papers on information analysis centers and automatic data processing, abstracting and indexing services, and markstem, inputting techniques, and computer usage in a large data center. The third session, on abstracting and indexing services, includes case studies of ERIC/CLIS and the Air Force Machinability Center, the role of secondary services, a profile of scientific-technical tape information services, NSIC computerized information techniques, and the trends in services. Session 4, marketing, includes case studies of DoD, Cooper Data Center, Plastics Technical Evaluation Center, and information analysis centers' liaison with professional organizations, commercial firms, and the private sector.
