Instructional models and correlated learning passages are supplied in this teacher's handbook for teaching reading skills necessary for the student who wishes to participate in a High School Equivalency program. The divisions of the guide are: General Vocabulary Development--Outline; Interpreting Reading Material in Social Studies; Interpreting Reading Material in Science; Interpreting Literature; and Interpreting Reading Materials in Math. For each skill, there is an instructional rationale that explains why the skill is considered critical, one or more instructional objectives that explain the intent of the lesson, an instructional model that suggests how the skill might be taught, and one or more means of evaluating the effectiveness of instruction.
