The Manpower Laboratory Applied Programs in Manpower Development. Final Report.

The primary objective of this project was to develop effective programs for retaining the disadvantaged in employment after training and placement. The field work was done in Denver which has a population consisting of three major ethnic groups: white, Mexican-American, and Negro. The report consists of nine technical papers which are concerned with: the employer and the disadvantaged, behavior and economic disadvantagement, coaching as a method of support, a Manpower Laboratory research manual, and the development of a Cooperative Agency Liaison Program. Among the nine papers are: (1) Research Manual of the Manpower Laboratory: Applied Programs in Manpower Development, (2) Employer Development Program: Work Environment Studies, (3) The Development of a Cooperative Agency Liaison Program, (4) MDTA Followup Counseling, (5) A Pilot Investigation of Society, Personality and Vocational Deviance, (6) A Preliminary Report on Coaching, and (7) A Pilot Study of the Use of Resources by Agency Clients.
