The three objectives of this meeting are: (1) to evolve principles for the national planning of documentation and library services in African countries in relation to social, economic and educational plans; (2) to assess the documentation and library needs of African States and correlate a plan of development of these services for the region with a regional target for education, research and book development and (3) to work out a model plan for the implementation of documentation and library services in Uganda.
