The first part of this guide for a volunteer library workers' workshop is entitled "Committee and Chairman's Guide." It discusses the purpose and objectives of a workshop, basic planning steps, and the personnel needed for the workshop. The second part, "Group Leader's Guide" contains discussions of teaching adults, working with groups and using successful techniques. Planning a single session and a bibliography for background reading are also included. Part three contains sample materials such as: sample programs, sample forms, and sample kit of materials. This guide is based on the experience of leaders of church and synagogue library workshops both large and small. It is intended to provide guidance for others who wish to create a learning experience for volunteer library workers. (Author/NH)
