This volume contains 11 papers focused on the problem of creating educational policies to equalize educational opportunities. Six papers in the first section analyze the social disparities in educational participation, the sociological factors in educational demand, the clientele of comprehensive secondary schools, and the trends in higher education enrollments. Section two contains five papers designed to establish educational policies that would equalize educational opportunity. This section includes the implications of regional inequality in France and Sweden, and the English social selection processes, as well as a discussion of educational policies for culturally disadvantaged students.
