This is the second volume of a 24-unit course in French, specifically developed for the training of Foreign Service officers and representatives of other United States government agencies who are involved in foreign affairs. Classes are intended to be limited to six students in a full-time, intensive, training program requiring six hours of class and two hours of laboratory work each day. Emphasis in this audiolingual course is placed on the development of speaking skills. The core of each lesson is a dialogue focusing on everyday situations which an adult might encounter in France. The dialogues are presented in French and English. Lessons also contain sections on dialogue notes, useful words, lexical drills, questions on the dialogue, grammar, document study, situations, question and response drills, narration, and reading materials.
