A Skilled Needs Surveys with Implications for Vocational-Technical Education within the Iowa Western Community College District Area XIII, Including Douglas and Sarpy Counties of Metropolitan Omaha, Nebraska.
Meyers, Larry Duane
This study was undertaken (1) to determine the number and kinds of skilled, semi-skilled, and technician employees in a multi-county region in Nebraska, (2) to provide a basis for planning vocational curriculum at Iowa Western Community College, and (3) to aid in statewide planning in area vocational schools and community colleges. A mail survey of over 2,000 area employers covered 13 major occupational categories with 307 job titles listed. Occupational and employment trends which were projected through 1970 indicated a need for additional vocational and technical training programs. A recommended number of sections and class size are given for programs in order of priority. (Author/BH)
