The Message is You; Guidelines For Preparing Presentations.
Rowe, Mack R.; And Others
The material presented in these guidelines is a summary of information for the planning, preparation, and successful utilization of visual presentations in conferences. Accordingly, the material is divided into three major sections which detail the specific tasks of the presenter, the producer, and the sponsor. In the section for the presenter, the communication of his ideas is discussed with reference to cost effectiveness, audiences, visual idea presentation, editing, and organizing. The types of visual aids and production services which are available are described. For the producer, guidelines are provided for the design and production of visual and handout materials: Specifically, principles are presented for planning pictures and verbal information, handling original art, and using standardized formats. The final section details the service and support functions of the sponsor before, during, and after the conference. Items to be considered by the sponsor are outlined and include the meeting room, projection and audio equipment, the schedule, and basic presentation standards for a professional meeting. Several forms and tables are appended, and a selected bibliography is included. (SH)
