Probing the Natural World, Volume 1.
This text is the first volume used in the Intermediate Science Curriculum Study (ISCS) three year junior high school science program. The text is activity-oriented and consists of a series of experiments related to forces, work, energy, friction, electricity, heat, and other areas in physical science. The activities are designed for independent study and self pacing by the students, making it possible for the teacher to work individually with the students. In addition to the 21 chapters of activities there are 48 excursions, which are optional activities providing more depth or side lights to the chapter materials.
