Guidelines for the Education of Migrant Children.

Prepared at the direction of the State Board of Education with the guidance of the Advisory Compensatory Education Commission, these guidelines are intended to assist school districts in California in developing programs under the Migrant Amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 to meet the special educational needs of children of migratory agricultural workers. The guidelines describe the organizational structure and staffing patterns for the administration and operation of local programs through regional administrative units. Information on identification of migrant children, identification of educational needs, level of funding, fiscal management, and evaluation of funded programs is also provided.
