Smaller Communities Program: Lincoln County. Combined Economic Base and Applicant Potential Report; An Evaluation of the Economic and Human Resources of a Rural Oregon County.

Prepared by the Smaller Communities Services Program of the Oregon Department of Employment, this 1970 report summarizes the program findings relative to Lincoln County, Oregon. As stated, the overall objective of the program was promotion of the economic adjustment of specific rural, low-income areas--including the occupational adjustment of individual residents. In furtherance of this objective, a mobile team of 2 supervisors, 1 counselor, 1 labor area analyst, and 12 temporary personnel collected information pertaining to Lincoln County. The findings are reported in the document in terms of the area's relationship to the western United States, recreation areas, general description of the area, socioeconomic factors, historical notes, population, agriculture, natural resources, government and tax structure, nonagricultural industries, employment distribution, the labor force, human resources, occupational groups, and the methodology employed in the study.
