The Tanganyika Library Service.
Kaungamno, Ezekiel E.
The history, services, reading habits, and statistics are given for the Tanganyika public libraries. The conclusions of the study were that most Africans tend to read for utilitarian purposes and not for recreation or self-development, that there is little spare time for reading, the subject matter in books reflects European civilization, and more research is required to find out who reads what and why.
