The National School Food Service and Nutrition Education Finance Project.

The objectives of this NEFP satellite study were to project the total school food service and nutrition education needs to 1980, and to develop alternative fiscal models to meet these needs. Data from questionnaires mailed to all States revealed that numerous deficiencies exist in food service programs and nutrition education. This situation is apparently related to the lack of wide acceptance and support of national and State goals for child nutrition programs. The projected student enrollment for 1980 is 53 million with lunch costs estimated at 6 billion dollars. Related documents are EA 003 538, EA 003 539, EA 003 540, EA 003 542, and EA 003 543.
