The Federal Program in Population Research. Inventory of Population Research Supported by Federal Agencies During Fiscal Year 1970.
National Inst. of Child Health and Human Development (NIH), Bethesda, MD.; National Institutes of Health (DHEW), Bethesda, MD.
This inventory of federally supported population research activities for fiscal year 1970 up dates and expands a previous report, The Federal Program in Population Research, which covered projects supported during July 1, 1968 through April 30, 1969. Its purpose is to provide timely and comprehensive information on current population research activities. The definition of population research used in determining the scope and relevance of projects reported is represented by the classification scheme utilized in the format: biological sciences, animal behavior and ecology, social sciences, and institutional programs. Thirteen federal agencies support the 664 projects included in the inventory with a funding value of $163 million. Each project is classified within the category most closely describing the principal focus of the study, citing title of the research project, author, supporting agency, method of support, grant number, amount of funding for fiscal year, starting and completion dates, and total support for duration of the project. An alphabetical index of investigators, a classification outline including all sub-categories, and two fiscal tables of projects by agency and classification scheme are appended. (BL)
