The basic objective of the institute was to improve the library effectiveness of the attendees and to develop their potential for future leadership. An intense and concentrated program of learning opportunities focused on increasing the personal and professional competence of its nine participants. A model was designed, implemented and evaluated which can serve as a basis for attaining educational goals of library schools, staff development programs and professional association continuing education efforts.
