Creager, John A.
In 1964 the American Council on Education initiated an internship program for Fellows in Academic Administration. The purpose of the program was to enlarge the number, and to improve the quality of persons available to fill key positions in academic administration. This report presents and compares evaluation and selection information in the third year of the program with that from the first 2 years. Discussed are: (1) evaluation and selection procedures in the operational program; (2) background characteristics of the third-year groups; (3) evaluations at the home institutions; (4) the nominee evaluation process from nomination through interview; and (5) immediate postinternship followup studies.
