Compiled from a master list of about 300 journals and various book sources, this fourth annual selective bibliography published by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) lists 1,734 items concerned with pedagogy in modern foreign languages, Latin, Greek, English as a second language, and applied linguistics. The 1970 listing provides continuity with the Birkmaier-Lange "Selective Bibliography on the Teaching of Foreign Languages 1920-1966" and the ACTFL bibliographies of 1967, 1968, and 1969.
