Discovery in Drama.
Frazier, Clifford; Meyer, Anthony
This teacher guide, intended for teen-age educational settings, explores the possibilities of "spontaneous drama" which incorporates acting techniques to evoke the life experience of the student and to encourage self-revelation in a safe and accepting atmosphere. Primarily designed for use in Christian education, but with application to literature and guidance curriculum situations, the guide contains 30 scenarios for spontaneous drama--presenting lesson strategies, production scripts, and related music and film materials. Arranged in order of dramatic difficulty, the subjects include Vietnam, Death, Abortion, Meditation, Self Consciousness, Liturgy, and Miscegenation. Photographs of classroom performances of several improvisations accompany the text. (DD)
