Prerequisites for Good Planning Sessions in Team Teaching. Module VII.
York, L. Jean
The last of seven modules on team teaching, this document deals with the prerequisites for good planning sessions. The major objectives are to acquaint teachers with a variety of team planning purposes for improving instruction, to show the relationship between the goals of team teaching and the planning completed at varying times of the year, to show the need for involving professional, paraprofessional, and administrative personnel in planning sessions, and to show that effective planning is a result of the teachers' knowledge of goals, their versatility, and interpersonal rapport. The study material includes 1) four articles: "Purposeful Planning for Prescriptive Education in Team Teaching" by L. Jean York, "Teaching Procedures" by Delbert M. Lobb, "So You're Team Teaching" by Anthony Blieker, and "What is the Role of the Team Meeting?" by Dennis E. Rens; 2) individual and group activities for studying team planning sessions; 3) the transcript of an interview with team leaders and principal conducted by L. Jean York; and 4) mastery tests for the study material. (SP 004 754 - SP 004 759 are the related documents.) (MBM)
