This special report is based on the Engineering Manpower Commission's ninth survey of a series designed to give basic salary information on engineering graduates in the United States. Government agencies (118) at the federal, state and local level provided data covering 30,414 engineering graduates. Salary figures were reported by employers via two questionnaires, one designed for engineering graduates in supervisory positions and the other for those in non-supervisory positions. Salaries are analysed on the basis of years of experience since the baccalaureate degree. Graphic and tabular presentations show upper and lower decile, quartile, and median salaries by years since the baccalaureate degree. All salary information pertains to the salary structure in effect in July 1970. The report also contains (1) a list of participating agencies, and (2) facsimile of a questionnaire. (LC)
