Chapman, Frank L.
This publication is designed for use as part of a curriculum series developed by the Regional Marine Science Project. As an informative text for a three-week unit in marine science for grade six, it considers man's role in using coastal resources and how he affects the marine environments. An ecological approach to nature is emphasized, stressing the ties between culture, economy, and resource use. Topics are divided into three units: Food and Recreation, Transportation, and Minerals and Conservation. Each unit includes a vocabulary, fill-in questions, and disucssion topics. Numerous diagrams illustrate topics discussed. This work was prepared under an ESEA Title III contract. (BL)
