This collection of activity guides was produced for The Handicapped Children's Nature Study Center in Davenport, Iowa, however the guides are designed to be used in any outdoor area by elementary teachers of either handicapped or "normal" children. The emphasis is on making the students more sensitive to their environment by the use of all senses. Purpose, objectives, concepts, and activities are described separately for each of the five senses. Also indicated are teacher's guides for four activities at the Nature Study Center in Davenport. The activities are titled, Dike Hike, Fall Walk, Tree Planting, and Tracking. Each guide includes a list of resource materials and suggestions for further activities.
