The Northwest Alabama Cooperative Project here reported was funded under Title IV of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This project was oriented toward the reorganization of classrooms to include team teaching and continuous progress, improved subject matter skills, and improved understanding of individuals and individual differences. This project was also concerned with helping participants to improve interpersonal relationships and intra-group skills. The procedures for accomplishing these objectives included five single day institutes, a two-week workshop, a two-day institute, school visits, and material preparation. The project is a cooperative venture of six neighboring school districts in Northwest Alabama assisted by the Auburn University Title IV Center and the University of South Alabama Title IV Center.
