The Value of Technical Information to National and Industrial Economic Development in Britain.

The primary purpose of the Conference was to emphasize the value of technical information to leaders of British industries by relating the use of technical information to economic development, showing that there are weaknesses in the collection and use of technical information, trying to cost these failings, and indicating some of the remedial measures. The report includes papers entitled: "Scientific Information and Economic Success,""Weaknesses in the Flow of Information. What Do They Cost?,""Economic Success: the Contribution of the Information Scientist," and "The Literature of Science and Technology: Putting System into Searches."
