Joint Report on 1970-71 Student Charges.
National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, Washington, DC.; American Association of State Colleges and Universities, Washington, DC.
Survey results are presented of tuition, room and board charges at member institutions of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC). The findings indicate that it will cost more for the average student at state colleges and universities to attend school this year than last year, but the rise in most student charges is not as dramatic as was the increase between last year and the previous year. This report presents information on: (1) median student charges at state colleges and universities for resident and non-resident students, 1969-70 and 1970-71 at the NASULGC and AASCU institutions; (2) the reasons for the increases; (3) the 5-year trend in student charges; (4) the highest and lowest rates charged; (5) regional differences in charges; and (6) comparisons of charges by enrollments for the AASCU schools. The 10 institutions with lowest and highest charges for residents and nonresidents in the 2 groups are listed, as well as all the AASCU schools and their various student charges. (AF)
