Instructional Strategies Appropriate to Computer-Assisted Instruction. Proceedings of a Conference Held October 29-30, 1968 at Washington, D.C.
Hickey, Albert E.
A potpourri of talks and discussion at a symposium on instructional strategies for computer-assisted (CAI) instruction are summarized in this report under these topic headings: Conference objectives; Are instructional strategies critical to CAI; The classification of instructional strategies; What is a strategy; Operational definitions of individual strategies; Computer-managed instruction; and Some factors in instructional strategies. In a critique of the symposium as a whole, its participants are seen as being involved in a motley of problems and projects. It is concluded that the question of where research funds might be best spent is impossible to answer at present, and that there is a lot of work to be done in various areas: mathematics, education, psychology, and computer sciences.
