Learning for Individual and Social Development.
Conner, Desmond M.; And Others
This report was designed mainly as an aid to developing staff training for field personnel engaged in social or economic development, particularly as this may relate to disadvantaged areas. In one aspect, it is a descriptive report of the findings and experiences of a pilot-training project carried out from the fall of 1967 to the fall of 1969 by the Developmental Services Unit under the Canadian Department of Regional Economic Expansion. It sets out principles and assumptions about adult learning; discusses steps involved in creating a learning opportunity for field staff, the life cycle of the learning community, and some of the operational processes a trainer might use in conducting sessions. The final section deals with the problem of evaluation and the kind of report one might wish to prepare. The second aspect of the report is its presentation in a type of workbook. Empty pages have not been photographed. (NL)
