Two questionnaires were used to survey the information resources available to the legislative and executive branches of state government in Indiana. The questionnaires sought information on library and information resources and services currently available from where professional personnel seek information not available in their immediate offices, and what services they felt necessary and/or desirable. Additional information was gathered by interviews with the State Library staff responsible for services to state government and the personnel in other state departments. The report is divided into seven chapters: (1) purpose, scope, methods of study; (2) national standards, Indiana statutes and extent of state employment in Indiana; (3) library and information services to staff in Indiana state hospitals; (4) library and information services to staff in Indiana correctional institutions; (5) present library and information services to other state agencies in Indiana; (6) options for improved library and information services to Indiana State Government; and (7) recommendations.
